There is one of the mules that run along each side of the big ships to keep them cenetered in the canal.

 

 

This is the first set of locks from the Atlantic.    There are two parallel lanes. 

 

 

We are in the lock being raised while the ship next to us is just entering the adjacent lock. 

 

 

The adjacent lock is being drained so another ship can enter.

This is the Gatun Lake dam.  This was the largest man made lake in the world until the Hoover dam was built in 1936. 

 

 

There is the coral princess anchored in Gatun lake while groups of passengers disembark on various shore excursions.

 

 

There is Alice standing on our balcony waving to me as I head to shore to expore the locks and jungles of Panama..
