| Notes | b. abt 1525 in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, England; d. before 21 dec 1588 but after 1583. He was named as the second son of Gilbert and Alice Norris. He received a fourth part of the estate of his father plus a flat piece of "sylver" and a fourth of the silver shoes. He left children who all received money from the estate of Gilbert Norrys. His daughter Isabell received the most. Richard Norrys also had a son, Edward. In the Gloucester consistory court records for 21 Dec 1588, comes this record:
Caveat entered not to grant administration of the goods of Richard Norris late of Tetbury until Sylvester Kingscott otherwise Norris be first called. This record indicates that Richard Norris apparently had a bastard son named Sylvester who carried the name of his birth mother, Kingscott. The estate of Richard Norris was not settled until this person was notified. Isabel Norrys was named in her grandfather's will to receive 13 pounds 4 shillings from his estate. Edward Norrys I was not named in the will of Gilbert Norrys by name, but rather as one of the children of Richard Norrys. His own will names his father as Richard Norrys. See below for more.
