There is what is left of a big fireplace at the old brothel.

Panorama view looking out from one of the old mine shafts on South Mountain.

There is one of the old mine shaft entrances.

View looking Southeast from near the entrance of an old mine shaft.

View looking Southeast from near the entrance of an old mine shaft.  Notice the piles of tailings in the foreground.  .

Plenty of old debris and evidence of mining activity along this old trail.

There is the biggest mine shaft entrance that I found.

Fortunately I brought a powerful flashlight.

Looks like there is no way past this point.

The smell of bat guano is strong coming from this vertical shaft.  I decided not to try and crawl up there.

Looks like this old mine shaft has collapsed.  Probably not a good idea to explore in there.

Two more mine shafts on the South side of South Mountain.

There is the view looking out the cave entrance.  The Lumix TS5 automatic HDR did a pretty good job here.

Here is a full 360° panorama image around the biggest cave entrance I could find.

There is the view as I hike back down through the wash.

There is the view looking back up where I came from.

The wash leads back to the Pyramid trail.

I don't want to accidentally bump into one of these along the trail.

Quite a few of the sagura cacti were blooming.

More cactus.

I wonder how that rock got split in half.
